Tarcoola railway station

Tarcoola is a station on the Trans-Australian Railway. It serves the former mining town of Tarcoola in South Australia. Since the Central Australia Railway was rebuilt as standard gauge in 1980, it has been the site of the junction of the line to Alice Springs and later to Darwin as the Adelaide-Darwin railway.

The station has two triangles, one for turning locomotives, and a larger one that gives direct access from the Darwin line to the Perth line.
